PropertiesIt is a colorless transparent liquid, with slight pungent odor. Insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol, ketone, ester and other most organic solvents. Melting point: -43, Boiling point: 126.8, Flash point: 33, Density: 0.975g/ml.

UsesDiethyl Carbonate is an aprotic organic solvent, commonly used as a solvent for cellulose ethers, nitrocellulose, natural and synthetic resins. In the electronic industry, it is usually used as the lithium-ion batteries and capacitors electrolyte. Its electrochemical stability is good, it can improve the low temperature performance of the Li-ion battery electrolyte. As a common carbonation reagent, it can be used to synthesize ketones, tertiary alcohols and heterocyclic compounds. In addition, it is an intermediate of Pesticide pyrethrin and drug Phenobarbital.

Storage:Keep it in a well-closed container and store in a cool, dry and well ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat source, and store separately from oxidants, reducing agents and acids.
